Daniela Ruah is Making A Return to the NCIS – But It’s Not in the Way You Might Expect

Daniela Ruah last appeared as Kensi Blye in the series finale of “NCIS: Los Angeles.” After following her journey since the first episode, fans were able to watch Kensi end her story in a happy position, expecting a child with her boyfriend Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).

While Kensi isn’t scheduled for a cameo anytime soon (that we know of), Ruah has returned to the case in a very different manner.

“NCIS: Los Angeles” may have concluded with Season 14, but “NCIS” and “NCIS: Hawai’i” are still going strong. According to Deadline, Ruah will helm episodes of both remaining procedurals.

Her “NCIS” episode will air in March, followed by “NCIS: Hawai’i” in April. And she’s thrilled to be a part of this brand, as she stated in a statement: “Kensi was born as a character on ‘NCIS,’ 15 years ago, so now to be able to step onto that set again, as a director, with that incredible cast and crew, is an absolute honor.”

It is not her first time in the director’s chair. She previously directed six episodes of “NCIS: Los Angeles” in seasons 12, 13, and 14.

Daniela Ruah Gets A Lot of Support From Her Ncis Family.

Daniela Ruah’s Instagram post regarding her impending directorial gigs received good feedback from followers. Other “NCIS” players expressed their excitement at Ruah’s return to the franchise.

Brian Dietzen, who has played Jimmy Palmer on “NCIS” since Season 1, was one of the well-known names mentioned. He kept it short and sweet: “See you soon!”

Ruah featured in only two “NCIS” episodes in Season 6, “Legend (Part I)” and “Legend (Part II)”. Brian Dietzen does not appear in those episodes, although it appears that the two will finally meet in 2024.

Ruah’s “NCIS: Los Angeles” co-star Erik Palladino commented on her Instagram post, saying, “Well, sure. This makes great sense to me. Excellent directing skills-check. Excellent at being a human – tick. Hired!”

It’s great to witness Ruah’s talents develop both behind and in front of the camera. In an exclusive interview with Looper, the actor discussed the obstacles of directing, stating, “I was directing [an episode] a few weeks ago, and there was one particular day that felt almost impossible to finish.” We had very little time to shoot, and there was a lot of action.

There was a company relocation, which implies you moved the entire personnel and machinery to a new location. It seemed like an impossible day to finish.” LL Cool J, who plays Sam Hanna on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” encouraged her to persevere. Hopefully, she will remember those words of wisdom in all of her future directing ventures.
