On the day of their wedding, love, laughter, and tears of joy usually fill the air, creating a memorable occasion. Unfortunately, the marriage between David and Heather Mosher unfolded as anything but ordinary.
David and Heather first met in 2015 during a dance course, experiencing love at first sight. Their connection was immediate, and in 2016, on a December night under the gentle glow of streetlights from a horse-drawn carriage, David proposed. However, the joy of their engagement was quickly overshadowed when Heather received the devastating news of a suspicious lump in her breast, potentially cancerous, just hours later.
Five days after their engagement, Heather was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. Despite planning to marry on December 30, 2017, the rapid progression of the cancer forced them to move up the wedding date. On December 22, almost a year after the proposal, they exchanged vows in a touching ceremony at the hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
Heather, frail from her illness, wore her wedding dress draped over her like a sheet. Every moment was a struggle for her, but she fought to proudly speak her vows. Her words, uttered in that ceremony, would ultimately be her last.
Heather’s friend Christina, reflecting on the day, mentioned Heather’s determination to marry her soulmate. Despite the difficulties, Heather’s joy was palpable, turning the ceremony into a celebration of love.
Tragically, Heather passed away 18 hours after saying “Yes” at the age of 31. On December 30, the day originally planned for their wedding, Heather’s funeral took place at the same venue they had chosen for their marriage. The photos captured during their wedding, shared by Christina, have resonated with people worldwide, depicting a poignant love story that touched hearts globally.
