NCIS: Hawai’i is preparing to resume production and will seek traditional blessings before beginning filming, as it did for the previous two seasons.
According to Deadline, LL Cool J will return to his role as Sam Hanna in NCIS: Los Angeles, which ended after 14 seasons earlier this year.
LL Cool J made a cameo appearance in the Season 2 finale in May, laying the groundwork for his presence in the spin-off in the following season.
The announcement comes ahead of the Season 3 premiere of NCIS: Hawai’i, which is scheduled for February 12 of next year.
NCIS: Hawai’i is the latest location-based spin-off in the NCIS franchise. It aired in 2021 and quickly became a fan favorite and highlight on CBS.
The Hawai’i-based series follows Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor, and her team of Naval Cr1me Investigative Services agents as they investigate cr1mes, preserve national security, and manage their responsibilities to their families and the country.
The second season of NCIS Hawai’i began with a crossover in which Jane joined other members of the mothership NCIS crew to halt a sinister conspiracy by The Raven, who intends to sabotage critical worldwide military exercises.
While Season 2’s ratings were no match for the first season, it was a welcome addition to the series, earning the impending third season.
