Former ‘CBS Sunday Morning’ host Charles Osgood dies at 91 following battle with dementia

Charles Osgood, the beloved host of “CBS Sunday Morning,” has passed away at 91 after battling dementia. Known for his distinctive bow ties and folksy storytelling, Osgood retired in 2016 after a 45-year career at CBS News. His legacy includes creating “The Osgood File,” a radio commentary that ran for almost 46 years. Osgood’s versatility earned him numerous awards, and his warm and intelligent delivery left a lasting impact. A tribute to him will be featured on “CBS Sunday Morning” on January 28. He is survived by his wife, Jean, and five children.
