In celebration of NCIS’s 20th anniversary, The Hollywood Reporter released an oral history, featuring interviews with directors and producers. One key discussion centered around Michael Weatherly, who played Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS. Weatherly left the show after season 13 and quickly transitioned to his role in “Bull,” thanks to CBS executive Glenn Geller’s desire to keep working with him. “Bull” premiered just four months after Weatherly’s final NCIS appearance in May 2016.
However, Weatherly’s post-NCIS career faced challenges, including allegations from a former co-star, Eliza Dushku. She accused him of making sexually inappropriate comments on the set of “Bull,” leading to her termination. CBS settled with Dushku for an amount equal to four seasons’ salary, and Weatherly personally apologized to her. These events led to changes in Weatherly’s career, and as of the conclusion of “Bull” in May 2022, he has yet to officially announce his next TV or film roles.
